Pushpashrama - Infant Jesus Shrine celebrated two great events on September 8th:
Monti fest, the feast of the nativity of the blessed virgin Mary. After the 9 days novenas with flowers, sweets and masses; we had a grand celebration of the birthday of Mary on September 8th.There were 4 masses to mark the event of the day- at 6.45am mass in konkani; 5.00pm mass in Tamil; 6.00pm mass in Kannada and 7.00pm mass in English. All were given new corn (paddy/grains) as a symbol of Mangaloreans harvest festival and sugar canes to double the joy. Secondly both the carmelites as well as the malyalis (Norbertines) together celebrated Onam festivity with 40 types of dishes, pukalam, sweets, sugarcanes and games to boost the family spirit.
