OCDS Gathering
The Pushpashrama Community recently had the honour of hosting the
Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS) from the Karnataka-Goa
Province for a significant event — the election of the new Provincial
Council, held on November 14. This gathering was preceded by an
enriching input session, which drew participation from other OCDS
members and their spiritual assistants across the province, fostering a
spirit of unity and collaboration. A notable highlight of this event was
the esteemed presence of Rev. Fr. Ramiro Casale, the Delegate General
for OCDS, who brought valuable insights and encouragement to the
attendees. The gathering also welcomed Rev. Fr. Silvestre D’Souza, the
Provincial Superior of the Karnataka-Goa Province, Fr. Deep Fernandes,
the Delegate Provincial for OCDS, and Fr. Alphonse Britto, the
Councillor for Spirituality. The two-day event culminated in a
delightful communal meal hosted by the Pushpashrama Community,
celebrating not only the elections but also the bonds formed among
members of the Order - friars and laity. As we extend our heartfelt
congratulations to the newly elected OCDS Provincial Council, we pray
that their leadership will inspire many to seek and draw from the
springs of Living Water that flow from Mt. Carmel.
